469,037. Catamenial appliances. INTERNATIONAL CELLUCOTTON PRODUCTS CO. Jan. 18, 1936, No. 1701. Convention date, Jan. 18, 1935. [Class 81 (ii)] A catamenial appliance comprises. an absorbent pad element 5, preferably formed of a number of layers of crepe paper provided with cushion strips 9, 9 of cotton or other fuzzy-surfaced material whose edges cling to the surface of the pad element and thus retain in position narrower, intermediate moisture proof strips 6, 6. The end portions of the pad may be compacted as shown at 51 and the assembly is enclosed in a gauze or like wrapper 11. The strips 6 may be made of crepe paper treated with a solution of aluminium stearate, paraffin or rosin in carbon tetrachloride, or the fibres of the strips may be sized with rosin size. Specification 430,269 is referred to.
