410,333. Agglomerating fuel. RUDEMAN, L., 20, Meezenplein, The Hague. June 21, 1933, No. 17716. Convention date, Oct. 31, 1932. [Class 50.] Finely divided fuel such as anthracite coal or lignite dust, cokes, peat, wood, bagasse, residues from the olive-oil industry, &c., is mixed with rice meal, potato flour, sorghum, maize, or other fecula-containing substance and a substance such as phenol to prevent fermentation, the resultant mass being heated by superheated steam at about 300‹ C. and briquetted. The briquettes may be treated with a waterproofing agent, e.g. soap and alum, aluminium acetate, or latex. A mixture of hydrocarbons, anthracene oils, phenols and tar distillation products with or without a small amount of zinc chloride and known as carbolineum may be used to prevent fermentation. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 205,865, [Class 50].
