Coking processes.-In preparing powdered fuel, coal lignite &c. is subjected to heat treatment at about 500' C. with a large volume of hot gases free from oxygen to expel the bituminous content only and leave a coke rich in volatiles. The heat treatment may 'be as described in Specifications 169,847 or 228,494.
