Abstract
409,326. Coke ovens. PAVITT, W. H., 90, Chatfield Road, Bronxville, New York, U.S.A. Sept. 20, 1932, No. 21616/33. Convention date, Oct. 26, 1931. Divided on 399,975. [Classes 51 (i) and 51 (ii).] In a horizontal coke oven having regenerator chambers in rows extending from one side of the battery to the other, the chambers in each half of each row comprising an inner group and an outer group connected with long and short supply and exhaust channels extending into the oven structure from both sides of the battery, these channels are connected either (a) to the reversing-valves I in pairs, so that each valve controls two adjacent long or short channels, or (b) to individual reversing-valves KC, which are in turn connected in pairs to supply pipes K<70>, the arrangement being such that one valve of a pair leads to a short, and the other to a long channel. The construction is the same as that described in Specification 399,975. Specification 407,716 also is referred to.
