Abstract
Gas liquor is treated with iron salts obtained as bye-products from iron-pickling plants and the iron hydroxides and sulphides thus precipitated are removed by filtering the liquid through sawdust, cork scraps, peat, or similar material. During filtration a current of air may be passed through the liquid and the filtering-medium. The used filtering-material may be dried and used for purifying gas.
