Abstract

405,071. Pistons. C.M.D. ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., Wharf Street, and BLUNT, A. W., 62, Emscote Road, both in Warwick. Sept. 29, 1932, No. 27009. [Class 122 (i).] A piston of the kind wherein the skirt is attached to the head by webs above the gudgeon pin bosses only is formed with an internal circumferential flange 6 at the lower end of the piston head to which the gudgeon pin bosses 4 are attached by means of oblique webs 11 which merge into the flange at approximately 90‹ apart circumferentially. The planes of the oblique webs 11 preferably pass through the axis of the gudgeon pin. Specification 377,374 is referred to.
