Abstract
413,496. Pistons. BROUSSOUSE, F. L., Logis du Plantier, Garat, Charente, France. July 21, 1933, Nos. 20648 and 20649. Convention dates, July 21, 1932 and June 29, 1933. [Class 122 (i).] A piston comprises a head 4 and a guiding portion 7 connected by a trunk 12, and the gudgeon pin bosses are arranged in the portion 7 and preferably at about half the height of the thrust face. A scraper ring 14 is provided in the lower part 7 of the piston together with ports 18 to allow escape of oil. In a modification the ports 18 are not employed and a trough is formed at the connection between the lower end of the trunk portion and the part 7 to collect the oil which is then thrown on to the cylinder wall when the piston commences to reciprocate.
