Abstract

377,374. Pistons. C. M. D. ENGINEER. ING CO., Ltd., Wharf Street, and BLUNT, A. W., 62, Emscote Road, both in Warwick. June 10, 1931, No. 16854. [Class 122 (i).] The resilience of the minimum thrust face is increased by reducing the bearing surface to a narrow strip D, D extending through 10-25‹ on each side of the slit B. The bearing face E extends circumferentially through 90‹ ; the portions F between this and the face D being recessed. A strengthening rib N below the bosses may be grooved to carry a scraper ring and the part of the skirt below the bosses may be cylindrical. The piston may be fitted in the cylinder without clearance.
