[Class 38 (i).] In an electrical cut-out in which a fusible element is embedded in or surrounded by solid inert material, such as sand, mixed with additional material adapted, when the element fuses, to evolve gas unfavourable to the formation of an arc, such additional material comprises a solid or liquid hydrocarbon such as anthracene.
