[Class 38 (i).] A fusible element as described in Specification 341,281 has the centre portion b surrounded with a heatinsulating material to confine the rise of temperature and therefore the point of rupture to that part. The material may consist of beads, a tube or refractory powder f suitably enclosed. The invention may be applied to a single fuse wire.
