Abstract
601,884. Fusible cut-outs. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Oct. 10, 1945, No. 26407. Convention date, Oct. 17, 1944. [Class 38 (i)] A fuse wire is embedded in arc quenching material consisting of fine grain sand preferably within the range .0049-.0035 inch. As shown, silver wires 7 held between supports 5 each have parts 7a, 7b, 7c non-uniform in. section and the size of the inert material may vary within the above specified limits in the three parts of the tube 1 according to the three wire cross sections or the inert material may be uniform throughout the tube within the said limits. The lower end of the cartridge may be closed by a flexible disc serving as an indicator of the type described in Specification 528,629. Specifications 571,081 and 577,805 also are referred to.
