Abstract
981,606. Electrical initiators. POUDRERIES REUNIES DE BELGIQUE S.A. Feb. 20, 1961 [Nov. 10, 1960], No. 6175/61. Heading F3A. An electrical initiator comprises a pair of electrodes 1 rigidly mounted on an insulating element 2, the ends 4 of the electrodes being turned over to clamp in position a filament, preferably a pyrotechnic composition - covered chromenickel wire, wherein the electrodes are made of an alloy which consists of 80 to 20% by weight of nickel, 20 to 80% by weight of copper and less than 2% by weight of zinc. The ends 6, 6<SP>1</SP> of the electrodes receive electrical supply leads and these and the filament are welded into position. The method of making the initiator is as described in Belgian Specification 569,620.
