Abstract
404,017. Insulators. BRITISH THOMSON - HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London, and ADAMS, W. S., Tinto House, Crick Road, Hillmorton, Rugby. July 6,1932, No. 19133. [Class 36.] In a current transformer having a bar-type primary passing through a bushing insulator 5, the latter is resiliently supported within a casing 2 containing the core and secondary 3 in such manner as to be capable of limited angular movement with respect to the casing whilst restrained from material axial movement. The mounting comprises a resilient flange 9 adapted to fit between the casing wall and secondary 3, the flange being diametrically split and the two halves being held in a groove 8 on the bushing by being secured to a ring 10 of smaller diameter than the flange. A hole 6 of smaller diameter than the flange is provided in the casing wall, and in order that the bushing may be introduced after assembly, a notch 11 extending into the hole in the casing wall is provided to enable the flange to be passed through the hole by rotation after deforming the material of the flange adjacent the slit so that the flange passes through the notch. The method is stated to be applicable generally to resiliently mounting insulating bushings on panels.
