'[Class 38 (ii)] [Also in Groups XX and XL] An energizing transformer for a high voltage X-ray apparatus comprises a core 19, a primary winding 18, and a secondary winding 26, and carries a hollow annular shield 30 into which the cathode 38 of the tube projects to be shielded thereby. A casing 10 may be provided and may be filled with insulating oil or gas.
