401,330. Mine props. TOUSSAINT, H., 23, waldmannstrasse, Lankwitz, Berlin, and BOCHUMER EISENHUTTE HEINTZMANN & CO., GES., Bochum, both in Germany. Feb. 9, 1932. No. 3892. [Class 20 (ii).] Mine of the type in which one member is received in the other and a wedge with friction pad is disposed axially of the prop between the prop members, have the wedge formed of metal member 2 is tapered and is received in the hollow members 1 and a metal wedge 3 provided with friction packing 17 adjusts the height of the prop. Grooves 7 may be provided in one face of the wedge to receive the end of a lever 8 whereby the wedge may be released. The wedge may be single or double and may be screw or crosswedge adjusted with friction packing disposed on both sides of the inner member. A separate sleeve may be secured to the end of the outer member which receives the inner member, and in another modification balls 41 may be placed at the rear of the wedge to facilitate its movement. The Provisional Specification describes also screw and lever means for causing relative movement between the prop members.
