Abstract
390,027. Mine props. RICHARDS, F., 14, Brynheulog Street, Port Talbot, Glamorgan. June 16, 1932, No. 17001. [Class 20 (ii).] A head or foot fitting 1 for pit props is arranged so that it is held normally in alignment with the prop by means of a stop, removal of which allows tilting between the prop and fitting. The fitting 1 is provided with a groove 2, against which abuts the wedgeshaped end of the prop, and also with extensions 4 which embrace the prop, pin-stops 5 in these extensions being used to retain the fitting and prop in alignment. Removal of one of the stops 5 will allow relative rotation and disengagement of the prop and and the fitting. A hinged stop 6, Fig. 6, may be used in place of a pin stop 5. The extensions may comprise rods 23 provided with eyes 24, 25, Fig. 12, and the fitting may be formed as a socket to receive a wooden plug.
