Abstract
401,214. Nailing. KATHREINER GES., 75D, Potsdamerstrasse, Berlin. May 25, 1933, No. 15176. Convention date, June 4, 1932. Addition to 386,485. [Class 89 (iii).] Relates to a construction of separator for the pneumaticallyoperated nailing appliance described in the parent Specification. The nail raceway 18 terminates at the top of a short nail throat 7. The separator consists of a rocking-lever 42, one arm 45 of which is adapted to engage the end-most nail in the raceway throughout its entire length and move it into the throat 7. The lever 42 is rocked by the pneumatic piston 25. A spring 47 is arranged to engage and hold the endmost nail until it is engaged by the separator. An air nozzle 48 connected to the piston cylinder 24 is arranged to direct a jet of air against the shanks of the nails at the lower end of the raceway, so that the end-most nail always assumes a vertical position in front of the separator arm 45. One side of the throat 7 is closed by a readily-removable member 50, to facilitate access to the throat.
