Abstract

433,318. Attaching metal plates to woodwork &c. KING, M., 63, Pinkwell Avenue, Hayes, Middlesex. March 2, 1934, No. 6790. [Class 89 (iii)] A tool for securing triangular metal plates 19, with or without integral fixing prongs 20, to the interior angles of stair treads or boxes, comprises a tubular guide 11 in which the plate is a frictional fit, and a driver 14 with a spring- raised stem 13. The guide is triangular with incurved sides having convex ends 21, and the driver has a convex lower face 15. The spring 17 is such that, when it is fully compressed, the driver just projects from the guide, as shown at 18. If the plate has apertures for fixing-nails, instead of prongs, the nails are placed in the apertures before the plate is positioned in the guide. According to the Provisional Specification, pins are provided on the driver stem to limit its stroke.
