Abstract

754,647. Hammers; nail extractors. HILL, J. T. Dec. 15, 1954 [Dec. 16. 1953]. No. 36314/54. Class 61 A claw hammer is provided with a slot opening A which passes right through the hammer head B at a position between the striking face C and the handle socket opening D to provide a second nail extractor means for use after partial extraction of the nail, whereby the height of 'the pull may be increased beyond that of the claw. The slot opening A has an enlarged eye portion E sufficiently wide to allow the head of the nail to pass through, the nail shank entering into the main body A' of the slot on sideways movement of the hammer.
