Abstract

399,514. Softening water. TETT, H. L. and TETT, G. S., 111, Fulham Road, London. April 6, 1932, No. 9859. [Class 46.] A small portable baseexchange water softener 11 has a perforated inlet pipe 15 near the bottom and a screened outlet pipe 14 for the softened water. The bottom of the container is located a short distance within the cylindrical side wall, is dished inwardly and has a central aperture normally closed by a plug 20. For regeneration the cylinder is inverted and the plug removed ; salt solution and flushing water are then supplied to the funnel formed by the bottom in the inverted position and pass downwardly through the cylinder to the outlet 14. The container may be supported on a swivel bracket which will allow it to be inverted.
