Abstract
360,172. Filters. CHEAVIN, G. W. and FULHAM POTTERY & CHEAVIN FILTER CO., Ltd., 210, New King's Road, Fulham, London. Oct. 21, 1930, No. 31627. [Class 46.] Apparatus for filtering and softening water comprises a bed 4 of zeolite, held between perforated plates 2 in an outer container 1 of metal or earthenware, and cylinders 9 of kieselguhr, fixed in the base of an inner receptacle 5 which is supported by a flange 6 and receives the water to be filtered. The space below the zeolite bed is provided with an air-vent passage 15, which mav be formed in the wall of the container 1 or may be a separate pipe, for example of glass. A further device may be provided for filtering the water after it has passed through the zeolite.
