295,004. Etablissements Phillips et Pain. Aug. 5, 1927, [Convention date]. Internal fittings.- Water vessels, such as decanters, are charged with base-exchange watersoftening material through which the water passes as the vessel is filled, a perforated plate being provided to retain the material when the vessel is tilted to discharge the softened water. A decanter, Fig. 11, is filled through a tube 27 to the lower end of which is attached a perforated rubber pouch containing softening material. In emptying, the water passes out through perforations in a stopper 28. To regenerate the baseexchange material, salt is placed on the upper perforated plate.
