R., Willesden Works, Hythe Road, London.-(Cannstatter Misch und Knetmaschinen - Fabrik Cannstatter Dampf-Backofen-Fabrik Werner und Pfleiderer ; Cannstatt, Stuttgart, Germany.) March 24, 1932, No. 8873. [Class 100 (i).] In apparatus for stacking on edge sheets, metal plates, or the like delivered from a machine, guiding means are provided for deflecting the sheets from a horizontal to a vertical position comprising a rotary drum 5 and a series ot sprmgpressed rollers 6 .. 9 engaging the drum. As shown, the sheets 1 after passing through a drying stove between bars 3 on a conveyer 2 are deposited on to a travelling-band 4 which forwards them to the deflecting devices 5 .. 9. Additional delivery-rolls 10, 11 are provided so that the sheets have only a short drop on to a stacking-conveyer 12 and rest against an inclined support 15. Rotary arms 13 carry rubber or felt rolls 14 which move the sheets into stacking position and an oscillating lever 16 with a curved felted head stacks the sheets against the support 15. A number of removable supports 15 may be provided on the conveyer 12 which is speeded up after a certain number of sheets have been deposited against each support.
