Abstract
The decomposition of chlorinated hydrocarbons with the production of substances of acid character is checked by the addition of amylene in such proportions as 0,001-0,1 per cent by weight to the chlorinated hydrocarbon. It is preferred to apply the stabilizer in the form of a strong stock solution in the particular chlorinated hydrocarbon to be stabilized, a suitable volume of this solution being diluted with the bulk of the material to be stabilized.
