Dec. 29, 1932, No. 36773. Convention date, Dec. 29, 1931. [Class 39 (i).] One or, more discharge lamps having thermionic electrodes and filled with rare gas at a pressure of a few mms. are arranged about the middle of one or more discharge lamps having thermionic electrodes and filled with rare gas and' with metal vapour assuming a pressure above 50 mm. in operation. In a daylight lamp, a helical tube 2 with electrode chambers supported by clips from a central rod 7 in an extension 6 of a conical housing 4 is filled with neon at 1-10 mm., preferably 5 mm., and is arranged about a straight or curved tube 1 with electrode chambers 1<1> in sleeves 11 and with a mercury filling assuming a pressure of several hundred mm. Two tubes 1 parallel to each other may be filled with different vapours. Four incandescent lamps in recesses in the housing 4 may be supplied independently or in series with the discharge lamps. The. glass front 5 does not form an airtight closure and may be coloured. Specification 13084/04, [Class 39, Electric lamps &c.], is referred to.
