Abstract

396,727. Electric-lamp holders. CRABTREE, J. A., Endwood, Little Aston Park, Sutton Coldfield. Jan. 9, 1932, No. 662. [Class 39 (ii).] Spring-loaded plungers carrying terminals are formed with grooves with which engage spring-rings serving as abutments for the spring or for retaining the plunger in the body of the holder. The Figure shows a plunger a with a ring e serving as the abutment of the spring b<1> and a ring d bearing on the body b of the holder. The plunger may be made in two parts screwed together so that the rings may be applied before it is placed in the holder. Either ring may be replaced by a collar solid with the plunger, which may have a flat face to prevent the plunger from turning in the holder, or a washer with a flat face may be interposed between the spring and the ring d. For the same purpose the head of the plunger carrying the terminal may be made with a flat surface bearing on a portion of the holder, or the terminal screw may slide in a groove in the holder.
