Abstract
396,283. Bearings. ZIEHL, G., Rodenkirchen, near Cologne, Germany. Dec. 30, 1932, No. 36962. [Class 12 (i).] A sliding door or window h, Figs. 2 and 3, is carried by a series of balls d mounted in a freely movable U-shaped member a having depending resilient flanges b which prevent the balls from dropping out. In the form shown in Fig. 2, two members a are mounted one in each compartment of a channel member e in the door frame, and support a pair of glass doors h. The balls are guided by grooves l in the member e and their upper ends project into the lower rims f of the doors. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, the door is adjustably suspended from an overhead track e which is similarly grooved to receive the balls. A grooved plate f rests upon the upper surface of the balls and to this plate is attached a plate i from which the door is suspended by a bolt g. The bolt passes through a screw-threaded plate k attached to the door and can be adjusted to vary the height of the door.
