Abstract

408,588. Window holders. THOMAS, E. E., Tregarth, Bath Road, Cranford, Hounslow, Middlesex, (Representative of THOMAS, S. E.), and QUICKTHO (1928), Ltd., Point Pleasant, Wandsworth, London. Aug. 10, 1932, No. 22432. [Class 44.] A vehicle sliding-window sash a is balanced and held by frictional contact in a series of defined positions by a pair of pivoted links f which are moved apart against the pressure of a spring h as the window descends, and which frictionally engage with means carried by the lower part of the sash. In the form shown, the links are in the form of flat metal bars pivoted to brackets g on the fixed frame. The links engage with grooved rollers b which are carried by a rod c mounted on the lower rail d of the sash. Recesses i are provided at defined intervals in the links to prevent any movement of the sash when subjected to vibrations. The lower ends of the links are curved outwardly so that slight inward projections k are formed which prevent unintentional lifting of the window when in the lowermost position. In a modification, the links are grooved instead of the rollers.
