Abstract

396,066. Centrifugal dust-extractors. NEW SHARLSTON COLLIERIES CO., Ltd., Bush House, Aldwych, London, and BARKER, P. D., Alverstone, Walton, near Wakefield, Yorkshire. Dec. 16, 1931, Nos. 34851/31 and 7348/32. [Class 23.] Dust from rock-drilling operations is drawn off by a current of air from which the coarser and finer particles are separated in two stages. A whirling motion is given to the air by a cyclone 16 causing the heavier material to deposit in a container 8 ; air admitted by a perforated pipe 21 assists the removal of the finer dust which is drawn off by an injector nozzle 27 and retained by a filter 28.
