Abstract
381,154. Recovering tobacco from imperfect cigarettes. LEGG, 0., 21; Goswell Terrace, London. June 23, 1931, No. 18148. [Class 130.] In apparatus wherein the cigarettes are ripped open and passed through sieves, the paper and adhering tobacco which do not pass through a sieve are conveyed to a succeeding sieve or to final collectors by a blower 5 with a pipe 6 opening with a narrow mouth into the receptacle 4 of the first sieve 1, and a suction pipe 7 having a larger mouth leading from the receptacle 4 to a cyclone 8 arranged to deliver the papers &c. to the next sieve 2. Similarly, the papers &c. collected in a receptacle 9 from the sieve 2 are conveyed to a third sieve 3 by a blower 10 and cyclone 13. Again, conveyance from the receptacle 15 at the end of the sieve 3 is effected by the same blower 10 and by a pair of cyclones 19, 20 delivering into sacks or other receptacles. A damper 21 may be used to bring either of the cyclones 19 or 20 into action.
