Abstract
671,232. Pneumatic separators. MYARD, J. Jan. 3, 1950 [July 5, 1949 ; Aug. 4, 1949], No. 162/50. Class 117 In an apparatus for de-dusting crushed materials, an enclosed, inclined shoot 3, through which the material falls, has a portion of its bottom wall 4 replaced by a perforated sieve portion 5, and a dust collector 8 is disposed below the sieve portion 5, a suction effect being produced in the collector via a conduit 15 connected to an exhauster 11 which also extracts dust from the shoot 3 through a side wall 9 thereof downstream from the said sieve portion 5, the dust-laden air from the exhauster 11 passing into a separator. As shown, below the sieve portion 5, which is raised above the level of the shoot wall 4, a further sieve 6 of finer mesh is provided, the lower edge 7 of which is also raised with respect to the shoot wall 4. The exhauster 11 connects with the shoot 3 via a screen 13 and a suction conduit 10 merging obliquely with the wall 9, and the collector conduit 15 may connect either with the exhauster discharge conduit 14 in the manner shown so as to induce a suction effect in the collector, or with the suction conduit 10. In the latter case an adjustable throttling gate may be mounted in the suction conduit 10 immediately upstream of the connection with the collector conduit 15.
