Abstract
395,852. Motors. CHEETHAM, G. A., Hamewith, Westmorland Road, Urmston, Manchester, and ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London. June 1, 1932, No. 15559. [Class 35.] Motors with unwound iron armatures for electric clocks &c. of the type comprising a toothed rotor revolving between toothed polepieces the motor is started by a pin carried on a weighted or spring- controlled lever and engaging with the teeth of the rotor. In the arrangement shown in the Figure the pin 14 is mounted on a weight 13 on the end of an arm 10 journalled on the spindle of the minute hand of the clock and actuated by a knurled knob. The weight 13 is formed with a notch 15 engaging a stop 16 so as to limit its movement. A form in which the lever is controlled by a spring the tension of which is adjusted is also described. In either form the pin 14 is formed so that it can be bent to engage the rotor teeth to the right extent.
