Abstract
593,122. Electric clocks. TRUVOX ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and THILO, H. A. June 12, 1945, No. 14903. [Class 139] In an electric clock the transmission gearing between the synchronous motor shaft and the seconds hand consists solely of a pin mounted slightly eccentrically with respect to the driving shaft adapted to engage the teeth of the seconds wheel so as to give a large step down of gearing at a single stage. As shown in Figs, 2, 5 and 6, a synchronous electric motor 13 has an armature 10 mounted on a shaft 14 rotated at 120 revs. per minute. The shaft 14 drives by means of an eccentrically mounted pin 15, Fig. 5, a 120 toothed seconds wheel 16 on the shaft 17 of which is mounted a seconds disc bearing the numbers of the seconds which numbers are viewed through an opening in the dial. A spring pawl 25 ensures correct " stepping on " of the seconds wheel 16. The drive from the seconds wheel 16 to the 120- toothed minutes wheel 19 is also by means of an eccentric pin 18 on the shaft 17 which in this case is shaped to act like a Geneva stop mechanism to ensure correct " stepping on " of the minutes wheel. There is just an ordinary drive between the minutes wheel and the hours wheel.
