Brush-holders; exciting. - An angularly-displaceable brush-holder for an auxiliary regulating brush in a generator adapted to rotate in either direction, such as a vehicle-lighting dynamo, has two openings for the brush, one or other of which is used in accordance with the direction of rotation. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the arcuate holder h has two boxes f, g for the auxiliary brush c, Fig. 1, and is adapted to be rocked through an angle a or #, for example by means of a pinion engaging teeth on the bridge-piece i on which the brush-holder is secured. The brush-spring is placed in a central stud k irrespectively of the brush being in one or the other of the boxes f, g in accordance with the direction of rotation. The bridge-piece is guided by tongues l.
