Magneto-electric machines; machines with two or more armatures.-In a combined lighting and ignition generator, the lighting unit is arranged behind the U-shaped magnet d of the ignition magneto and is separated therefrom by a non- magnetic. flanged ring b, and the yoke ring a is flattened at the bottom a<1> so as to rest on the upper flattened part t' of the magneto casing. The non-magnetic ring b has a cylindrical part c extending into the arch of the magnet supporting the bearing k of the dynamo armature shaft which is driven by toothed gear from the magneto shaft o. The cylindrical portion c is cut away to accommodate the projecting ends of the field coils q and apertures y<1> permit inspection of the brush gear. The lighting generator is clamped to the magneto by a band v.
