408,487. Electric winding-apparatus particularly for clocks. LANDIS & GYR AKT. GES., 1, Hofstrasse, Zug, Switzerland. July 14, 1933, No. 19920. Convention date, Aug. 29, 1932. [Class 139.] A motor for winding a clock comprises a pivoted frame e carrying a U-shaped armature f the ends of which enter slots milled in the core g of an electromagnet. A pin m on the frame e passes through an arcuate slot in the frame a of the machine and is attached to a spring s which returns the frame when the circuit is broken by an insulated piece n on the pin m operating a contact-spring q. The armature f drives a ratchet d through a spring pawl i and its motion is limited by a laminated spring l. To regulate the winding a nut t driven by the clockwork train moves on a screw attached to the winding arbour so that when the clock is wound a pin u on the nut strikes a lever v to move the spring q and open the contacts. As the clock runs down the pin u slips off the lever v and the motor restarts.
