Abstract

395,160. Mine-props. RAIKES, F. W., c/o Cordes (Dos Works) Ltd., Newport, Monmouthshire. July 11, 1932, No. 19595. [Class 20 (ii).] A cap for pit-props of the girder-type comprises a base having an upstanding web cast thereon which forms the boundary of a cavity of substantially H orI cross section adapted to receive the end of the prop. As shown, the cap comprises a base 1 having a web portion 2 which forms the boundary of a cavity 3 of H or I cross section, which is adapted to fit over the end of the prop. The outer bearing face 4 of the cap may be curved or provided with projections.
