[Class 81 (ii).] In an artificial tooth shellcrown with a root pin, the portion b of the root pin a which carries the crown d has a groove or recess c transverse to its longitudinal axis and in which a similar transverse projection e on the inner side of the shell-crown engages. This projection rests on the shoulder g formed by the recess c, and the space between the shell-crown and the root pin is filled with cement f. The portion of the root pin entering the tooth may be cylindrical or conical or stepped as shown.
