Abstract

394,871. Centrifugal pumps. LONGENECKER, C. I., 1600, W. Bruce Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, U.S.A. Nov. 15, 1932, No. 32255. [Class 110 (i).] Means for priming a centrifugal pump comprises a tank 11 which is fed by the discharge pipe 10 and has leading from it a priming conduit 18. The priming supply is controlled by a valve 26 which remains open until the suction pressure on a diaphragm 30 exceeds that of a spring 31. By adjustment of a cam 36, the closure of the valve is arranged to coincide with the normal operation of the pump. A flap valve 21 is provided in the suction pipe.
