In the construction shown in Fig. 1, a cable 7, supported by main clamping members 1, 2 is engaged on each side of the members 1, 2 by subsidiary clamping members 10, 11. Links 13 are pivotally connected at their ends by bolts 15 to lugs 8, 12 formed on the main and subsidiary clamping members 2, 11 respectively, pivotal movement being yieldingly resisted by friction washers 14, for instance of the material known under the Registered Trade Mark " Ferrodo," which are inserted between the ends of the links 13 and the lugs 8, 12.
