[Class 7 (ii).] An exhaust - silencer comprises a casing containing a plurality of transverse sector shaped baffles 7 arranged so that alternate apices are disposed on opposite sides of the casing, the exhaust gases being divided into two zig-zag streams. The baffles are also notched at 7a and arranged so that a number of straight-through passages 9, 7a is provided.
