Abstract

388,224. Soap-holders ; brackets. HENRY, H. D., 22, Grosvenor Road, Chiswick, London. March 18, 1932, No. 8103. [Classes 52 (v) and 131.] A soap-holder A is provided with rigid spikes B, whereby the soap is prevented from moving, and has secured thereto a suction cup or cups C whereby it may be firmly retained in position on a supporting surface. The use of rigid spikes allows a large air space to be provided beneath the soap. The holder may be formed of metal or of vulcanite or the like, and may be provided with a channel or gutter around its outer edge. The holder and cup may be secured together by a rivet head or button D formed on the cup and adapted to be forced through a hole in the bottom of the holder ; alternatively, they may be secured together by a bolt and nut, or by vulcanizing ; or the spikes may be vulcanized directly into the suction cup. In a modification for use in supporting the soap from a vertical surface, the holder is secured to the horizontal arm of a bracket the vertical arm of which is provided with a suction cup.
