Abstract

365,852. Attaching shelves &c. to supports. BUTTERFIELDS, Ltd. and BUTTERFIELD, A., Levis Motor Works, Station Road, Stechford, Birmingham. March 5, 1931, No. 6880. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (v).] Table tops, desk tops, and shelves or the like are attached to supporting devices by means of suction rubbers or like devices. The Figure shows the upper end of a table leg' with a plug 13 and a flange 12 over which is slipped a concave suction rubber 6 ; a glass &c. table top 14 is pressed down upon the cup-like top of the suction rubber until the air is expressed and the table top is secured. In modifications, the top edge of the table leg, or of a cup screwed to the plug 13, is pressed over shoulders on the rubber 9 ; the rubbers 6 are attached to parts of the underframing of a table to permit the addition of a second or lower top ; they are attached to wall bracket arms to support shelves.
