Abstract

A holder for sexual aids such as vibrators comprises a cup 10 attached to a suction pad 11 via a flexible stem 12. When a vibrator is placed in the cup it can be moved to a variety of orientations and vibrate freely by virtue of the flexibility of the stem 12.

Description

SEXUAL AID HOLDER The present invention relates to the field of sexual aids such as vibrators and dildos.
It would be desirable, in some circumstances, for such articles to be usable without having to be held by hand. This could be achieved by securing the article to a firm surface.
In the case of a vibrator, it is important that the securing means should still enable the vibrator to oscillate freely.
The present invention provides a device for holding a sexual aid comprising means for securing the device to a surface, means for holding the sexual aid and means flexibly connecting the holding means to the securing means.
The flexible connection allows the sexual aid to adopt various orientations and vibrate freely.
The securing means preferably comprise a suction pad.
The sexual aid could be strapped to the device in some way, but the holding means is preferably in the form of a cup for receiving the sexual aid. The cup preferably has a cylindrical (rather than rectangular, for example) recess for receiving the sexual aid. Preferably the cup has a stepped inner surface to provide portions of decreasing cross-section to hold vibrators and other sexual aids of different crosssectional dimensions.
The connecting means may be in the form of a spring, for example, but in the presently preferred embodiment of the invention the connecting means comprise a flexible stem connecting the securing means to the holding means.
The holding means is preferably made of resilient material so that it will expand slightly to firmly hold the sexual aid. The flexible connection preferably enables the holding means to be pivoted through at least 450 from its normal position in any plane perpendicular to the surface on which the device is secured.
The securing means, holding means and connecting means may be integrally formed, for example by injection moulding.
A suitable material is P.V.C. (polyvinylchloride). P.V.C.
with a BS Shore hardness of 60 has been found to be particularly suitable.
An embodiment of the invention will now be described by way of example only and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which: FIGURE 1 is a side elevation of a device according to the invention; FIGURE 2 is a top plan view of the device of Figure 1; and FIGURE 3 is a vertical cross-section corresponding to Figure 1.
The illustrated device comprises a cup 10, a suction pad 11 and a flexible stem 12 connecting the cup 10 to the suction pad 11. The cup, pad and flexible stem are integrally formed from a resilient material such as P.V.C. of Shore Hardness 60. The resilience of the material enables the suction pad to be pressed onto any smooth surface to exclude the air between the pad 11 and the surface and form a vacuum seal. The stem 12 will normally extend perpendicular to the surface on which the suction pad 11 is secured. The flexibility of the material allows it to be bent away from the perpendicular, preferably up to about 450, but possibly further by suitable choice of the material. This flexibility not only allows a vibrator held in the cup 10 to vibrate freely, but also allows the sexual aid to adopt any orientation according to the user's desire.
The cup 10 has a stepped internal surface to provide three portions 1Oa,1Ob,10c of decreasing internal diameter from the cup rim to the base. This enables the cup to accommodate articles of various dimensions. Suitable diameters for the cup portions are as follows: 10a - 34.0mm 10b - 36.0mm 10c - 40.5mm This size range is believed to be suitable for most currently available sexual aids although the dimensions could of course be varied and the number of different diameter portions in the cup could be increased or decreased.
The cup typically has a depth of 39.Omm from its rim to its base (inside). The external length of the stem is typically 13.5mm and its diameter is typically 12.Omm. The foregoing dimensions are of course merely examples.
