Abstract
594,166. Sinks. SPENCER MOULTON & CO., Ltd., G., and SHEPPARD, C..J. L. June 1, 1945, No. 13794. [Class 26] A splash-guard for sinks comprises a partelliptical or upwardly tapering shield 1 of resilient or rubber-like sheet material mounted in a U-shaped channel 2 which is secured to an inverted U-shape channel or saddle 3, formed so that when pressed down on the front edge 4 of the sink it is sprung on to the latter. The rear face of the shield is plain, being free from depression or excrescences which might serve as traps or lodgements for water or other matter. A valance of sheet rubber or other waterrepellant material may depend down in front of and/or behind the supporting wall of the sink and the shield may project at an angle to the edge 4 instead of vertically. The shield may also be attached to the sink by rubber suction cups projecting either from its front lower part or from both front and rear lower parts. In another form the shield 6 is mounted on a base plate which is attached to a teak frame or other wooden batten, which is mounted on the edge of the sink by headed studs cooperating with key-hole slots in the plate.
