Abstract

388,146. Furniture. PACE, H. J., (trading as PACE & SONS, J.), 28A, Union Street, Willenhall, Staffordshire. Dec. 4, 1931, No. 33627. [Class 52 (i).] A sheet-metal foot B for attachment to the H-section or T-section frame A of a school desk is formed as a sheet metal box having two lugs E that pass upwardly at either side of the bottom flange a of the frame, are bent inwardly to pass thereover and then upwardly to embrace the web, to which they are secured by a bolt or rivet F. The lugs are preferably bent outwardly prior to being bent upwardly to pass over the flange. The foot shown in Figs. 2 and 3 is formed of two flanged sections b secured together by the rivet F and by a second rivet C that also serves as a spindle for a roller castor D. The feet of the desk which are not formed with castors are each constructed of two flanged sections G, H, Fig. 6, the flanges of which are telescoped and the outer flange clinched to permanently connect the sections.
