Abstract

388,142. Hair - waving appliances. HARRIS, S., 16, Lynmouth Road, Stamford Hill, London. Nov. 26, 1931, No. 32810. [Class 131.] A hair curling or waving appliance comprises a steaming tube A adapted to contain the curler A<2> on which the hair is wound, the tube being provided at the end adapted to be situated adjacent the scalp with a tress receiving slot A<3>, a detachable cap or closure A<1> which grips the hair, and a steam outlet A<5>, the other end of the tube being provided with a steam inlet nozzle A<4>. The nozzle A<4> is connected by a flexible tube B to one of a series of nozzles provided on a steam generator or boiler which may be heated by gas or by an electric heating element arranged beneath or in the boiler. If desired a second steam inlet tube may be provided. The boiler may be adapted to be detachably secured to the back or sea of a chair.
