[Class 131.] In hair-waving apparatus of the kind in which the tress, wound in flat superposed layers on an internally heated waver a, is enclosed by a cover or wrapper, the cover d is in the form of a flap or sheet of which one end s is thickened and fitted on one limb f of a clamp f, g adapted to be applied to the root of the tress, the flap, after being placed round the hair, being secured by clamping the free end thereof against the thickened end s by the other limb g of the clamp. The free end of the flap is provided on its outer surface with ribs i to prevent slipping. The thickened portion s of the flap is provided with surfaces m, n shaped to conform respectively to the curve of the wound tress and to the curve of the clamped portion of the flap.
