Convention date, Dec. 29, 1928. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 131.] A hair-waving device comprises a pair of laterally displaceable members c, Fig. 1, on which the hair is wound, the members being connected together by links b, b<1> and provided with slotted covers g secured on the hair by bolts i adapted to engage in slots k. The members c are provided internally with electrical or other heaters, and are covered with damped material before use, the material being retained in position by pivoted wire loops v. When wound on the members c, the hair is forced inwards between the members by a clip d, and the members c are then displaced laterally, so that the strands of hair are brought into an oblique position and an undulating wave is formed. To prevent the escape of vapour, the device is enclosed in a clasp r, Fig. 6, comprising a pair of limbs pivoted together at s and provided with finger grips t. Paper or the like may be wound on the hair before applying the clasp, or the clasp may be lined with interchangeable paper or the like.
