Abstract

387,571. Toilet-roll holders. BROOKES & ADAMS, Ltd. and BROOKES, A. E., 250, Barr Street, Hockley, Birming- ham. June 11, 1932, No. 16539. [Class 18.] A toilet-roll holder comprises two parts 1, 2 which are hinged together along one edge and are moulded from synthetic resin &c. with integral hinge lugs 4. The holder is provided with an outlet slot 14, and a member 5 on the part 1 below the hinging edge by means of which the holder is fixed to a surface. The roll is mounted on a spindle the ends of which seat in recesses 12 formed in the parts 1, 2. A ring may surround one or both of the bearings 12 to hold the parts 1, 2 together, or a hook &c. can be used for the same purpose. The lower edge of the slot 14 is formed with a lip which serves as a cutting edge. A lug 18 enables the part 2 to be raised. The attachment member 5 has a recess to take a projection on the part 1, and the screw which secures the member 5 to the holder also fixes the holder to the wall, although the member 5 may be permanently secured to the part 1 by rivets &c.
